Austen’s writing room, the Brontë moors, Potter’s Lakes and tea at Bath’s Pump Room.
Imagine standing in Jane Austen’s writing room, walking the windswept Yorkshire moors where the Brontë sisters found their inspiration, and sharing afternoon tea with fellow book lovers who truly get it. This isn’t just a tour — it’s the literary pilgrimage you’ve been dreaming about since you first fell in love with British literature.
Before we leave, we read together. You’ll join a private group with reading lists, thought prompts and optional Zoom calls, so that when we finally stand in these places, we know the stories — and each other.
Day by day
Day 1London & Oxford
- Meet in London & travel to Oxford
- Visit The Kilns, home to C.S. Lewis
- Lunch in Oxford in the oldest building in the university
- Walking tour of the university town of Oxford led by a historian to learn about the many authors that walked the streets of Oxford
- Welcome dinner by the river
Day 2Blenheim Palace & Oxford
- Visit Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill and filming location for Harry Potter and Bridgerton
- Free time in Oxford to shop and explore
Day 3Travel to Yorkshire & Haddon Hall
- Visit Haddon Hall, filming location for every Jane Eyre film & The Princess Bride
- Dinner in Yorkshire
Day 4The Lake District
- Explore the town of Hawkshead, where Beatrix Potter lived
- Walk the paths that inspired her watercolor landscapes
- Visit Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter wrote The Tale of Peter Rabbit and illustrated her beloved characters.
- Dinner on the lake
Day 5The Brontës, All Creatures Great & Small, and The Moors
- Visit the town of Grassington, filming location for All Creatures Great & Small
- Visit the Brontë Parsonage and explore the town of Haworth
- Take a guided hike on the moors
- As the sun sets over the moors, enjoy a private dinner prepared by a local chef in a restored shooting hut on a Yorkshire estate – complete with candlelight, farm to table food, and stories of the Brontës’ inspiration
Day 6Elizabeth Gaskell & Pemberley
- Visit Elizabeth Gaskell’s home
- Visit Chatsworth Estate (aka Pemberley from the 1995 Pride & Prejudice)
- Private dinner in Stratford-Upon-Avon
Day 7Shakespeare
- Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace
- Visit Anne Hathaway’s home
- Afternoon Tea cooking class
- Casual evening at the hotel with artisan pizza and pampering – your chance to catch up on journaling, swap photos, and relax with new friends
Day 8Jane Austen’s Bath
- Take a walking tour of Bath with Mr. Knightley
- Bridgerton Afternoon Tea
- Spa night at Thermae Bath Spa
Day 9Jane Austen’s Chawton
- Visit Jane Austen’s cottage where she revised Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Northanger Abbey – see her writing table and walk her garden
- Visit Chawton house, Jane’s brother’s home
- West End show or Shakespeare play in London
- Farewell dinner

Founder · lifelong Anglophile
As a girl Vanessa lived in Scotland with her grandmother, who was working on a PhD in British Literature. Touring English manors, gardens and abbeys together turned her into a tea-drinking, scone-eating Anglophile for life. She also runs Wanderlust Crew, and has four children she loves to read with and drag around the world.
Tamara
Former bookseller, park ranger & teacher
Tamara found childhood kindred spirits in Matilda, Anne Shirley and Ramona, worked as a bookseller through college, studied literature in the UK, and has started five book clubs at last count. She has been a National Park ranger in Alaska and an elementary school teacher, and now homeschools her two children in Tennessee.

Who is this trip for?
Like-minded women who love British literature. A fun, interactive online book club runs before the trip so you get to know each other — and the authors — before you walk in their footsteps.
How much walking is there?
A good amount. Please be sure you can comfortably walk several miles a day.
How many people are in the group?
Twelve guests at most, so we can take private tours, dine together and bond over our love of literature.
Can I make payments?
Yes. A $500 deposit holds your place; payment plans are available — just ask. The balance is due 30 days before departure.
Is the trip refundable?
The deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel after paying in full and we find a replacement, we will refund your payment.
